Chicken Wing Products Recalled for Undeclared Soy

Shop Packaging LLC of Massachusetts is recalling 115,505 pounds of chicken wing products because they contain undeclared soy, one of the major food allergens. The wings were processed with a releasing agent containing soy lecithin sprayed on a conveyer belt that is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to soy could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. No reports of adverse reactions have been received to date.

Important RecallThe recalled product is 20 pound bags containing “Chicken Mid-joint Wing”. They were produced between August 8 and October 10, 2014. They have the establishment number “P-46946” inside the USDA mark of inspection, and were shipped to a distributor in New York. The problem was discovered by an FSIS inspector.

If you purchased this product and are allergic to soy, do not eat it. Throw it away or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
