Dole Spinach Recalled for Undeclared Walnuts

Dole is recalling some bags of spinach and baby spinach because they may be contaminated with walnuts, one of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy to walnuts or tree nuts could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled products are DOLE Baby Spinach in 6 ounce bags with UPC number 071430009642. All of the Best-By dates on these packages are 9/4/2014. The bag codes are: B2311020, B2311021, B2311022, and B2311023.

Also recalled are DOLE Spinach in 8 ounce bags with UPC number UPC 071430009765. All bags have the Best-By date of 9/4/2014. The bag codes are B2311020, B2311021, B2311022, B2311023, B2311024, and B2311025.

The walnut fell from a tree into spinach bins being delivered from a field and were discovered at the plant. The recall is for Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. If you purchased these products and are allergic to walnuts or tree nuts, do not eat them. Discard and call the DOLE Customer Center for a refund.
