Golden Natural Fruit Island Recalled for Undeclared Sulfites

Crown Food Distributors is recalling Golden Natural Fruit Island for undeclared sulfites and undeclared FD&C color yellow #6. Anyone with an allergy to sulfites could have a serious or life-threatning reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date.

Recall signThe recalled products is “Golden Natural Fruit Island”, in a 25 ounce large round plastic container with sell by date of 11/19/14. It was distributed to retail stores in Northern New Jersey and New York. The recall was initiated after sampling by the New York State Department of Agriculture and Markets Food Inspectors revealed the presence of sulfites and the undeclared coloring.

Consuming 10 mg of sulfites per serving can cause severe reaction in some people with asthma. Anaphylactic shock can occur in some sulfite sensitive individuals. If you are allergic to sulfites or sensitive to yellow #6 do not consume this product. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
