In Canada, Dim Sum Products Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and King’s Vegetarian Food Manufacturing Co. are recalling dim sum products from the marketplace because they contain wheat, soy, sesame, and sulphites that are not declared on the label. Anyone with an allergy to those ingredients could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses have been reported to date.

RecallThe products were sold in Alberta, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island at the retail level. You can see the long list of products that were recalled, including the common name, size, codes on the product, and the UPC numbers at the CFIA web site. They include King’s Vegetarian brand and Kuan Tzu Tsai Vegetarian Food brand. The recalled products including Dumplings, Wheat Veggie Buns, Spring Rolls, Sticky Rice Wrap, Fried Gluten, Vegetarian Sticky Rice Dumpling, and H.K. BBQ Buns, among others.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to wheat, soy, sesame, and/or sulphites, do not eat them. Discard or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
