Yep, Add Chicken Salad Sandwiches to the Recall

Just as we told you yesterday, the chicken salad made by Bost Distributing (selling as Harold Food Company) was made into sandwiches and repackaged. Now Grand Strand Sandwich Company of Longs, South Carolina is recalling sandwiches sandwiches because the eggs they were made with, produced by Michael Foods Inc., may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes.

Bost Distributing was unsure if the eggs recalled by Michael Foods were used in these products, so they are being recalled to be on the safe side. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with consumption of these products.

Many of these sandwiches have probably already been eaten. But if you still have one, return it to the store for a refund; don’t eat it. You can see all of the product pictures at the FDA site.

For questions, call Grand Strand Sandwich at 1-800-758-0476 from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm EST Monday through Friday, and ask to speak with someone about the recall.
