Buffalo SAV Recalls Perogies for Undeclared Soy

perogies-recallBuffalo SAV Inc of Buffalo, NY is recalling Grandma’s brand potato and bacon perogies because they may contain undeclared soy protein allergen. People with soy allergies should not eat these products as they run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they do. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported.

The recalled products were sold in clear plastic 907 g (2 lb) packages in NY, OH, MI, CA and IL.  The packages had pink labels and  expiration dates 040414 to 040415 identified on bottom right hand corner.

The problem was discovered by a Canadian Food Safety Agency inspector. The company is working to correct the labeling problem.
