Aurora Expands Salmonella Walnut, Trail Mix Recall to Include More Private Labels

Aurora Products Inc. of Orange, CT  is expanding its nationwide recall of certain lots of walnuts and trail mix to include more private labels. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported, but consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as Salmonella can cause serious illness.

Recall SignageSymptoms of a Salmonella infection include fever, diarrhea that may be bloody nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In some cases, the infection can travel to the bloodstream  producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections, endocarditis and arthritis.

The recalled product was distributed nationwide through retail stores. It was also distributed in Canada and Bermuda.

Private labels included in the recall include: America Choice, Belmont Market, Boiceville Market, Gaul’s Market, Green Hills Market, Harvest Co – Op Market, Hurley Ridge, Lees, Miles Market, Palmers Market, Union Market, Walter Stewart , Windfall Market and Wild Acorns.
