Go Raw Organic Spicy Seed Mix Recalled for Salmonella

Freeland Foods Inc. of San Jose, Calif. is  recalling the Go Raw Organic Spicy Seed Mix for potential  Salmonella contamination. Consumers who have purchased this product should not use it.

Recall SignageSalmonella can cause serious infections. Young children, frail or elderly people, and those with weakened immune systems are especially vulnerable. Symptoms of an infection include fever, diarrhea (which may be bloody), nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. In some cases, the infection can get into the bloodstream and produce more severe illnesses such as infected aneurysms, endocarditis and arthritis.

The recalled products include: Go Raw Brand Organic Spicy Seed Mix, UPC number 8 59888 00040 0, lot number “Enjoy before May 12, 2015 R2,” sold in 1 lb. (454 g) re-sealable plastic bags sold by Ecomax.

Consumers who have purchased this product can return to the place of purchase for a full refund.
