Heng Cheong Loong Dried Golden Raisins Recalled for Sulfites

Tristar Food Wholesale Co. Inc. of Jersey City, NJ  is recalling Heng Cheong Loong Co. (HCL) Dried Golden Raisins because they contain undeclared sulfites. People who have severe sensitivity to sulfites shoudl not eat this product as they run the risk of serious or life threatening allergic reactions if they do. No illnesses had been reported at the time of the recall.

Recall SignEating 10 milligrams or more of sulfites per serving can cause severe reaction in some asthmatics including anaphylactic shock.

The recalled HCL Dried Golden Raisins, a product of South Africa, were distributed in 10 oz. plastic bags with UPC 6-930481-211418. They were sold in New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Maryland, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina and the Philadelphia area from July 01, 2015 – Oct 05, 2015.
