Real Foods Recalls Salad Kits for Undeclared Peanuts

Real Foods of Seattle of Kent, Washington is recalling 29 cases of Harvest Slaw Kit and 13 cases of Broccoli Salad Kit because these products may contain undeclared peanuts, one of the major food allergens. Anyone who is allergic to peanuts could have a life-threatening reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses have been reported to date; a customer compliant triggered the recall.

RecallFPBThe Harvest Slaw Kit and Broccoli Salad Kit may be packaged with sunflower seeds mixed with peanut pieces that are not declared on the label. The Harvest Slaw Kit has a net weight of 5.75 pounds and the Broccoli Salad Kit has a net weight of 11 pounds. They were sold to consumers directly from deli counters between August 5 and August 7, 2015. There are no codes on the containers.

These salads were sold in Haggen stores in the following cities in Oregon and Washington: Ashland, Eugene, Lake Oswego, Keizer, Milwaukie, and Oregon City in Oregon; and Aberdeen, Auburn, Bellingham, Bremerton, Burien, Edmonds, Federal Way, Ferndale, Gig Harbor, Lake Forest Park, Lakewood, Liberty Lake, Marysville, Milton, Mount Vernon, Oak Harbor, Puyallup, Renton, Shoreline and Tacoma in Washington. In addition, Plaza Market in Camano Island, Washington, County Market stores in Woodinville, Washington and Kingston, Washington, and Archie’s IGA in Pullman Washington received some of the products.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to peanuts, do not eat them. If you ate them and had an allergic reaction, see your doctor. Discard the product or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
