Allergy Alert in Two MA Whole Foods Stores for King Cakes

Whole Foods Market stores in Arlington, Massachusetts and Brookline, Massachusetts, are issuing an allergy alert to recall Cream Cheese King Cakes because they may contain pecans that are not declared on the label. Pecans, or tree nuts, can cause serious allergic reactions in those who are allergic to that ingredient. No reactions have been reported to date.

The recalled cakes are Lonestar Bakeries Cream Cheese King Cakes sold in purple cardboard containers. They were sold between February 4 and February 26, 2017. Signs are posted in the stores to notify shoppers about this recall.

If you purchased these products and are allergic to tree nuts, do not eat them. Throw them away or take the cake or the receipt back to the store where you bought it for a refund.
