Bahar Frozen Beef Dumplings Recalled for Lack of Inspection

Bahar LLC of New Jersey is recalling about 2,344 pounds of raw Bahar frozen Beef Dumplings because they were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. No illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date in connection with this problem. The problem was discovered by FSIS personnel during a review at the facility.

The recalled products is various weight sealed plastic packages that contain “Bahar Manti Gourmet Mediterranean Brand Beef Dumplings” in 1.1 square plastic sealed packages. The expiration dates of the recalled product are 5/20/19 through 8/29/19. The product has the establishment number “EST. 51290” inside the USDA mark of inspection on the package. They were shipped to distributors and retail locations in New Jersey. The dumplings were produced from May 2, 2018 through August 29, 2018.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service personnel are concerned that some of these dumplings may be frozen in consumers’ freezers. The expiration dates are a year away. Please check your freezer to see if you have these products.

If you did buy these Bahar Frozen Beef Dumplings, do not eat them. Throw them away or take them back to the place of purchase for a refund. Anyone who is concerned about a reaction should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS is conducting recall effectiveness checks to make sure that the firm is notifying their customers about this recall. They also want to make sure that the product is no longer on store shelves, available for consumers to purchase. When available, the retail distribution list for this and other recalled products will be posted on the FSIS website.
