Nexgrill Metal Wire Bristle Grill Brushes Recalled For Ingestion

Nexgrill Metal Wire Bristle Grill Brushes are being recalled for an ingestion hazard. Small bristles can detach from the brushes during use and can stick to the grill, where they can get into food. Swallowing these little wire pieces can cause serious internal injuries that could require surgery. There are at least 68 reports where the bristles detached from the brushes. Five consumers swallowed metal bristles and sought medical treatment. The recalling firm is the importer, Nexgrill Industries of Chino, California. The brushes were manufactured in China.

Nexgrill Metal Wire Bristle Grill Brushes Recalled For Ingestion

The recalled product is Nexgrill Metal Wire Bristle Grill Brushes that were sold in six varieties. They were sold at Home Depot stores and online at the Home Depot web site from 2015 through 2026 for about $5.00 and $15.00.

The recalled products are grill brushes with black plastic or wood handles that measure between 18 and 21 inches long. Only the model numbers listed are included in this recall.

The brushes include a 19 inch grill brush with model number 530-0024, sold from 2015 through 2026; Grill Cleaning Brush with Scraper with model number 530-0024G, sold from 2022 through 2026; Long Handle Grill Brush with model number 530-0034, sold from 2015 through 2016; Grill Brush and Scraper with model number 530-0039, sold from 2015 through 2026; Grill Brush with Scrub Pad with model number 530-0041, sold from 2o15 through 2026; and finally, Wood Handle Grill Brush with model number 530-0042, sold from 2015 through 2021.

If you bought any of these brushes, stop using them immediately. Contact Nexgrill for a refund in the form of a gift card. You will get a registration code and will need to upload a photograph of the brush with that code and your initials to register. Then you will receive directions on how to discard the brushes.
