Frontier Co-op is voluntarily recalling some of its products made with organic garlic powder that may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. The products were sold under the Frontier and Simply Organic brands, and one sold under the Whole Foods Market brand. No illnesses have been reported to date. Raw material received by Frontier tested positive for the pathogenic bacteria during an FDA test. These products were sold in all 50 states and in some parts of Canada. Giant Eagle is recalling Irish Soda bread because it contains milk, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. The bread was baked and sold inside Giant Eagle supermarket between February 24 and March 11, 2015. Those with an allergy to milk could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat this product. The recalled product has a UPC of 20761800000 and a package size is 16 ounces. Ultra Zx Recalled for Undeclared Drugs
Ultra Zx Labs is recalling UltraZx weight loss supplements because it contains undeclared Sibutramine and phenolphthalein. Sibutramine is a controlled substance that was removed from the market in 2010 because it substantially increases blood pressure and can be a "significant risk" for patients with a history of heart disease or stroke. Phenolphthalein is not approved as a supplement or a drug because it causes cancer. No reports of adverse events have been received to date.
