Thai Delight Burrito Recalled for Undeclared Soy

Lime Green Grocery is recalling 783 individually wrapped Thai Delight Burritos because it may contain undeclared soy, one of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy to soy could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses or allergic reactions have been reported to date. The Thai Delight Burritos are individually wrapped, packaged ready toe at and in grab and go cases in deli sections in refrigerated cases. The UPC number is 7 94025 00190 5. The recalled burritos have expiration dates of 1-24, 1-28, 1-31, and 2-4. They were distributed in the greater Seattle area. In Canada, Chinese Mung Bean Sprouts Recalled for Fecal Bacteria

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Atlantic Sprout Farm are recalling Chinese Mung Bean Sprouts because they may be contaminated with fecal coliform bacteria. Those bacteria are "indicator organisms" that give clues about the cleanliness of water. Bird or animal feces may have been in water that came into contact with the sprouts. There is no word on whether or not illnesses have been reported. The recalled products are all Atlantic Sprout Farm brand name, and are all Chinese Mung Bean Sprouts. Mak Kimchi Recalled for Undeclared Shrimp

Korean Food in Texas is recalling Mak Kimchi because it may contain undeclared shrimp (shellfish). People with an allergy or severe sensitivity to shrimp could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this product. The recalled item is Mak Kimchi sold in 32 ounce and half gallon glass jars. It was distributed in Asian markets at the retail level in Plano, Texas; Carrollton, Texas, Dallas, Texas; and Lawton, Oklahoma. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Sobey's, along with Walmart Canada are recalling Mann's brand Mediterranean Style Snap Pea Sensations because it contains mustard, sesame, soy, and wheat that are not declared on the label. People with an allergy to those ingredients could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume these products. No reported reactions have been received to date. Northern Tier Bakery of St. Paul Park, Minnesota is recalling Twix Bismarck doughnuts because they may contain undeclared peanut, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. People with an allergy to peanuts could have a life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses have been reported to date. There is no evidence that any of the Twix Bismarck doughnuts contain a peanut allergen, but a third party shipped a product to the facility in packaging that didn't reveal the presence of peanuts. Old Silvana Creamery Raw Milk Recalled for Possible Campylobacter

Raw milk from Old Silvana Creamery in Arlington, Washington state is being recalled for possible Campylobacter contamination. Raw milk with expiration dates of January 23 and January 24, 2015 is recalled. The product is sold in 15 stores in western Washington state. An independent lab discovered the pathogenic bacteria in a sample that is sent weekly for testing. No illnesses have been reported to date. Symptoms of a Campylobacter infection include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, pain, and fever. They usually occur within a few days after exposure. Serious complications from Campylobacter infections include Guillain-Barre syndrome, which can lead to paralysis. If you purchased this milk, do not drink it. Rader Farms Smoothie Blends Recalled for Possible Listeria

Inventure Foods of Arizona is recalling Rader Farms Smoothie products for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination. The blends themselves did not test positive for the bacteria, but spinach and/or kale ingredients used to manufactured the recalled blends did test positive. Those ingredients were supplied by the same outside party. No illnesses have been reported to date, but listeriosis, the illness caused by the Listeria bacteria, can take up to 70 days to manifest. Co-Op City Associated with Legionnaires’ Disease Outbreak in New York City

Health officials have found evidence connecting cases of Legionnaires' disease to the Co-Op City complex in the Bronx.  "Although additional testing needs to be done, the association between the people with Legionnaires' disease and Co-Op city is substantial," said attorney Fred Pritzker. "Sometimes filing a lawsuit is the only way to get answers." Since December 2014, 12 cases of Legionnaires’ disease have been diagnosed among Bronx residents, according to the New York City Department of Health. Of these, 8 were Co-Op City residents. Health officials found Legionella bacteria in water used in the cooling towers at the facility, according to a department press release.  The infected water is used to cool Co-Op City's heating and electrical systems.
