HyVee Mozzarella Cheese Sticks Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

Great American Appetizers of Idaho is recalling 662 cases of HyVee Mozzarella Cheese Sticks because they may contain undeclared soy flour, yellow #5 and yellow #6. Anyone with an allergy or sensitivity to any of these three ingredients could have a serious allergic reaction if they consume this product. No illnesses have been reported to date. The recalled product is HyVee Mozzarella Sticks sold in an 8 ounce (227 gram) carton with UPC number 075450149913. The product codes are 14290402 (BEST IF USED BY 4/17/2016) and 14295402 (BEST IF USED BY 4/22/2016) and are printed on the end of the carton. Ortega Taco Products Recalled for Undeclared Nuts

B&G Foods has announced that it is voluntarily recalling some Ortega and Las Palmas taco products because they contain peanuts and almonds (tree nuts), two of the major food allergens. A similar recall has been ongoing in Canada for the last two weeks. One or more of the spice ingredients purchased from a third party supplier contain the nuts. Anyone with an allergy to peanuts and/or tree nuts could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume these products. The recall of Jack 'N Jill snack foods in Canada for undeclared milk and wheat has been updated with new information. The foods are being recalled from the marketplace and anyone with an allergy to milk or sensitivity to gluten should not consume these products. No reactions or illnesses have been reported to date. Cal Poly Recalls Chocolate Bars for Possible Contamination

Cal Poly has recalled six varieties of its chocolate candy bars for undeclared allergens and possible microbial contamination. The university makes chocolates at a food processing lab on campus that is managed by students. The chocolate may contain undeclared peanut, milk, or soy allergens and may have been exposed to bacteria, yeast, or mold. There have been no reports of illness or allergic reaction as of Monday, October 6, 2014. The bars were made on equipment that may have experienced product buildup. That means other ingredients such as peanuts could be in chocolate bars that were not made with those ingredients. The failure occurred on October 3, 2014.
