Nestlé Frozen Pizzas Recalled for Foreign Materials

Nestlé Pizza Company of Wisconsin is recalling an undetermined amount of frozen pizzas that may be contaminated with foreign materials. The firm received consumer complaints that small fragments of plastic were found in pizza crust. One person has chipped a tooth on the plastic. The fragments are of clear, brittle plastic, in irregular triangles, and may have sharp edges. You can see all of the product labels of the recalled products at the FDA site. Nestle Recalls KitKat Chunky for Foreign Materials

Nestle has issued a global recall of certain batches of KitKat Chunky bars after seven consumers in the UK found plastic pieces in the candy. The products are sold primarily in the United Kingdom and in Canada, but the recall is worldwide. The recalled product is KitKat Chunky Peanut Butter Flavor 48 gram size bar. It has batch codes 23650457H, 22940457H, and 22950457H.  There have been no injuries reported resulting from this problem. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling three varieties of KitKat Chunky candy bars. The first is KitKat Chunky Peanut Butter in 48 gram size, with UPC number 0 59800 29936 7. Grippo Foods of Ohio is recalling several varieties of their potato chips because they may contain small metal fragments, which can result in serious injury. Small lacerations in the throat or GI system, dental injury, and choking are all possible. No injuries have been reported to date. FPL Food Recalling Ground Beef for Foreign Materials

FPL Food LLC of South Carolina is recalling about 5,820 pounds of ground beef chuck because it may contain small pieces of plastic. The problem was discovered after the company received three consumer complaints. There are no reports of injury at this time. The ground beef is sold in 80 ounce (5 pound) chubs of "80% Lean 20% Fat All Natural Ground Beef Chuck". The establishment number "EST 332B" and the sell by date of "03/27/2013" are inkjetted on each package. The beef was packaged on March 7, 2013, and were sold in retail stores in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Ikea Recalls Cakes; Kroger Recalls Bread

Here are the recalls issued by corporations, the FDA, and the USDA for March 5, 2013. Every day we'll collect recalls and alerts and post them so you can keep your family safe. Ikea recalled almond cakes after coliform bacteria found. That bacteria is in fecal matter. Chinese authorities found the bacteria in the product. The company says that 1800 Taarta Chokladkrokant cakes, which are "almond cakes with chocolate, butter crem, and butterscotch" never reached the stores, but were destroyed after Chinese customs authorities found the bacteria and intercepted them. The almond cakes were to go on sale in 23 countries. The Kroger Co is recalling bread made at its bakery in Clackamas, Oregon because it may contain pieces of plastic. Price Chopper is recalling granola made by Amport Foods because it may contain small fragments of metal mesh. The product under recall is Vanilla Almond Granola sold in 22 oz bags with the UPC number 71725 72512. The mesh fragments are flexible but may still cause injury. Customers who have purchased this product shouId not eat it. Products affected by the recall can be returned to Price Chopper for a full refund. Applegate Chicken Sausage Recalled for Foreign Materials

Schmalz's European Provisions of New Jersey is recalling Applegate Organics Chicken and Apple Sausage because they may contain small pieces of plastic. There have been three consumer complaints about this issue, but no reports of injury at this time. The recalled products were sold in 12 ounce vacuum packages. The date on the package is "Use or Freeze by 03/17/13". The establishment number "P-5411" is inside the USDA mark of inspection. The sausages were produced on January 24, 2013, and sold in retail stores nationwide and through limited internet sales in New Jersey. If you purchased these sausages, do not eat them. Smithfield Packing Company is recalling 38,000 pounds of pork sausage that may contain small pieces of plastic. The plastic likely came from gloves. Two consumer complaints alerted the facility to the problem. No reports of injury have been received to date. The recalled products include 1 pound chubs of "Gwaltney mild pork sausage roll" with a use-by date of March 12, 2013, and cases containing the chubs with a case code of 78533109741. The product has the establishment number "Est. 221-A" inside the USDA mark of inspection. Heartland Brands Recalls Granola for Foreign Materials
