OLMA-XXI Inc. of Brooklyn is recalling NORVEN brand herring in oil for possible Listeria contamination. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported, however consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. The recalled product has the Lot number 530611 and was sold in two sizes. The 17.6 oz. (500g), size has the UPC barcode 856687004196 and Best before date 10/27/16. The 10.6 oz. (300g) size has the UPC barcode 856687004189 and Best before date 10/27/16. They were as distributed to distributors and retail stores in NY, NJ, CT, IL, PA, MA, MD, VA, FL, and CA. Reser’s Salads Listeria Recall

Reser's Fine Foods Inc. of Beaverton, Oregon is recalling nineteen refrigerated salad items for potential Listeria contamination. Consumers who have purchased these Reser's salads should not eat them as Listeria can cause serious illness and death. The recall was initiated after the company was notified by a supplier that one lot of onions that was used in the manufacture of these salads may be contaminated with Listeria. The recalled refrigerated salads were distributed to retailers including and distribution centers in:  AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, HI, ID, IL, IN, KS, KY, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NE, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, SD, TN, TX, UT, WA, WY, and British Columbia. Redwood Hill Farm Raw Goat Milk Feta Recalled for Listeria

Redwood Hill Farm & Creamery Inc. of Sebastopol, CA is voluntarily recalling its 3lb Raw Goat Milk Feta in Brine buckets for Listeria. The recalled cheese has the  lot code #14000610 and was sold to three distributors in Northern California: Cowgirl Creamery, in the Ferry Building, San Francisco and at  Pt. Reyes Station.  Good Earth Natural Foods in Fairfax and Bom Dia in San Francisco. The recalled product was packaged in a white plastic bucket marked with a white lot code sticker on the top. They were shipped two buckets to the case. No other products are included in the recall. Shirk’s Meat Products Recalled for Listeria

Shirk’s Meat of Dundee, NY establishment, is recalling approximately 2,478 pounds of pork and beef products that may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) discovered the problem during routine testing. The various pork and beef items were produced between April 1, 2015 and May 12, 2015.  Their packaging has the establishment number “EST. 18894” inside the USDA mark of inspection. Rising Moon Ravioli Recalled for Possible Listeria

Carmel Food Group of Hayward, Calif. is recalling certain Rising Moon Organics frozen Ravioli for the possible presence of Listeria monocytogenes. The ravioli products contain organic spinach which has been recalled after it tested positive for Listeria. No illnesses had been reported at the time of the recall, but consumers who have purchased this product should not eat it as  Listeria can cause severe illness and death. Seniors, children, those with compromised immune systems and pregnant women are most at risk. In the recent Listeria outbreak linked to prepackaged caramel apples, 11 of the 35 cases of illness were linked to pregnancy. Listeria illnesses have prompted the recall of De Mi Pais brand fresh curd products Cuajada Fresca and Cuajada Olanchana. Customers who have purchased these products should not use them as they risk serious, life-threatening illness if they do. Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal infections in young children, the elderly, the immune  compromised, pregnant women and babies. After Massive Listeria Recall, SunBurst Halts Sandwich Production

Ten days ago, Sunburst Foods, a Goldsboro NC-based maker of sandwiches and snack items sold in vending machines and convenience stores issued a recall for everything it has ever made for possible Listeria contamination. Now the company, which had not received any reports of illness at the time of the recall,  has halted all production of sandwiches. The items, sold in vending machines and convenience stores in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and Georgia were sold under a variety of brand names including: River Edge Farms, CFW, Southern Zest, CJ’s Vending, Binford Street Deli, Middle Georgia Vendors, Roanoke Foods, Select Foods, and Jesse Jones (Double Chili Dogs). Costco Uses Shopper Cards to Notify Members of Listeria Recall

Costco is using member card information to notify its customers of the recall for Parkers Farm products that may be contaminated with Listeria. Costco emailed members who purchased the recalled products warning them of the potential danger. The peanut butter and cheese products were sold under the brand names Parkers Farm, Parkers, Happy Farms, Central Markets, Hy-Top, Amish Classic, Say Cheez, Win Schuler, and Bucky Badger. Some of the products were sold for food service and may have been used in deli or other prepared foods. To see a complete list of recalled products, click here.
