The Haifa smoked turbot recall for possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination that was issued on December 21, 2021 has been expanded to include more lot numbers. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with the consumption of this fish. The recalling firm is Haifa Smoked Fish of Jamaica, New York. The fish was distributed to retail stores in New York and New Jersey. About 920 more pounds of the fish is being recalled. The recalled products are al Haifa Turbot Cold Smoked packaged in 8 ounce containers. The original lot number that was recalled was 246. True Taste Recall Includes All Smoked Fish Made This Year
Botulism risk has prompted True Taste, LLC of Kenosha, Wis. to recall all of the hot smoked whitefish, trout, mackerel, salmon steak and cold smoked mackerel and whitefish it has produced during 2012. No illnesses have been reported in connection with this recall. True Taste is recalling vacuum packages of Hot Smoked Rainbow Trout, Hot Smoked Whitefish, Hot Smoked Herring, Hot Smoked Mackerel, Hot Smoked Salmon Steak, Cold Smoked Mackerel, and Cold Smoked Whitefish because they may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum, the bacteria that causes botulism.Consumers who have these products at home should not eat them.
