Whole Foods Recalls Meat Products for Undeclared Peanut

Whole Foods Markets is recalling about 33,191 pounds of ready to eat meat products for undeclared peanuts, one of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy to peanuts could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat these products. No illnesses have been reported to date. This is a secondary recall; the cumin used in these products has been recalled for peanuts. The recalled products all have production dates of 1/14/15 to 2/5/15. They include 16 pound bulk containers of "Chili, Turkey and Black Bean", 16 pound bulk containers of "Chili, Braised Beef", 24 ounce packages of "Chicken Chili Burrito", 24 ounce packages of "Pork Carnitas Burrito", and 24 ounce packages of Grilled Chicken Breast Quesadilla". Clemens Food Group of Hatfield, Pa. is recalling Hatfield Smokey Chipotle Dry Rub Seasoned St. Louis Style Ribs for undeclared peanut. Consumers with an allergy to peanut should not eat this product as they risk serious reaction if they do. The recalled products were sold in 20-lb. cases with code #4109 containing 6 individually wrapped and labeled packages with code 354. The establishment number “EST. 791” is inside the USDA mark of inspection. The recalled products were distributed in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. El Toro Pork Recalled for Undeclared Peanut

Morrison Meat Packers of Miami is recalling approximately 70,077 pounds of cooked pork products because they contain peanut, a known allergen which is not declared on the product label. Consumers who have purchased these products should not eat them as they risk serious health problems if they do. The recalled pork products were produced on Dec. 22, 2014, through Jan. 27, 2015 and packed in packages of various weights. They were marked EL TORO COOKED PORK AND WATER PRODUCT and “VIDA LATINA COOKED PORK AND WATER PRODUCT.” They have the establishment number “EST. 17882” inside the USDA mark of inspection and “Use By” dates ranging from Feb. 27, 2015, to Mar. 29, 2015 and lot numbers 356, 363, 002, 008, 015, 022, or 027. Holiday Foods of  Hollywood, Fla.  is recalling approximately 1,819 pounds of beef, chicken and pork products due to misbranding and an undeclared allergen, peanuts. There have been no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products but consumers with allergies to peanuts should not eat these products as they risk severe or life-threatening reaction if they do. Holiday Foods was notified by its spice supplier that the cumin in a spice mix used to formulate the products may have been contaminated with peanuts. Safeway Select French Salted Caramel Ice Cream Recalled for Undeclared Peanuts

Safeway is voluntarily recalling Safeway Select French Salted Caramel (Fleur De Sel) Premium Ice Cream because it contains undeclared peanuts. Consumers with allergies to peanuts should not eat this product as they risk severe or life-threatening reaction if they do. No illnesses or injuries have been reported. The recalled product was sold nationwide in all Safeway-owned stores from November 4, 2014 through December 5, 2014. Whole Foods is recalling “Vegan pumpkin pie” produced and sold at stores in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas because it contains undeclared walnuts. The recalled product was sold as half  pies and full pies packaged in both clear, plastic clamshell boxes and brown, Kraft paper boxes.
