In St. Louis, Missouri, Scnucks Bakery has announced an allergy alert for thirteen German chocolate cakes. According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA), these cakes may contain pecans that were not noted on the product labeling. The one-pound cakes, labeled “SCHNUCKS BAKERY DELUXE PETITE CAKE CHOCOLATE ICED YELLOW,” were distributed in plastic cake domes to 12 Schnucks retail stores in the states of Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri. Mediterranean-style Chicken Products Recalled for Undeclared Allergens and Misbranding
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), Food Evolution, LLC, headquartered in Schiller Park, Illinois, has announced a Class I Recall of 150 pounds of its Mediterranean-style chicken cous cous salad products. These products may contain pecans, which are not declared on the product’s labelling. “Class I” Recalls are classified as a “High Risk” health hazard situation by the FSIS. It is probable that people who are allergic to pecans may experience “serious, adverse health consequences or death” if they consume the chicken cous cous salad products.
