The XL Foods beef recall in Canada has been expanded for the 15th time. This new recall includes additional products. They were all manufactured on August 24, 27, 28, 29, and September 5, 2012.
The brands and stores include Reddi Food Solutions, Leduc, AB (EST 442), Les viandes P.P. Hallé Ltée, Lavergne Western Beef Inc., Buy-Low Foods, Nesters Markets, 49th Parallel Grocery, Fairway Markets, Freson Bros., Reg’s Homestyle Meats and Deli, Quality Foods, Real Atlantic Superstore, Dominion, Save Easy, Your Independent Grocer, Valumart, Provigo, T & T Supermarket, Premium Sausage, Walmart, Loblaw, Maxi, and No Frills. The products include cube steaks, stir fry strips, beef stew, kabob cubes, tournedos, jerky, steaks, tenderloin filet, sausage, liver, oxtail, chuck, ground beef, beef pork veal combinations, ground sirloin, oven roasts, sausages, and beef patties. Look at the long list carefully to see if you have purchased any of the recalled products.
If you are not sure if you purchased these products, throw it out. You can ask at the store if the foods in your home are part of the recall. For more information, call the CFIA at 1-800-442-2342 Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm ET.
