Bravo! Recalls Raw Frozen Pet Food for Possible Salmonella

Bravo! is voluntarily recalling three of its rw diet frozen foods for dogs and cats for possible Salmonella contamination. Last month, the Minnesota Department of Agriculture recalled the Chicken Blend variety for possible Salmonella. The recall has been expanded to include more products that were distributed nationwide.

The recalled products include 5 pound Bravo! Chicken Balance frozen raw diet chubs (tubes) with “best used by” dates of 3/6/15 and 3/12/15 imprinted on the side of hte plastic casing. Also recalled are 2 pound Bravo! Chicken Blend frozen raw diet chubs with “best used by” date of 3/12/15 imprinted on the side. Finally, 5 pound Bravo! Beef Blend Burgers bags with “best if used by” dates of 3/21/15 and 3/22/15 are recalled. There have been no reports of illness in either people or animals associated with these products.

While the products tested negative by an independent third party before distribution, they were run on the same day or an adjacent day to a product that tested positive for Salmonella. Pet owners can return unopened food to the store where they were purchased for a full refund. If you have opened the containers, dispose in a securely covered trash container and contact the retailer for a refund.
