In Canada, Bottled Lobster May Contain Botulism

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has updated its March warning for St. Thomas Fish Market products. The company’s bar clams were recalled last month. Now, St. Thomas bottled lobster is being recalled for the same reason.

The recalled product is sold in 285 gram (drained weight) bottles. The codes on the cover of the jar are 13921, 14021, 19121, 19521, 20221, 20521, and 20822. The UPC number is 0 81971 90072 8. The lobster was distributed in New Brunswick and may have been distributed in other provinces.

The symptoms of botulism poisoning include nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, headache, double vision, dry throat, respiratory failure, and paralysis. If you purchased this item, do not eat it. Return it to the place of purchase for a refund. For questions and more information, call the CFIA at 1-800-442-2342.
