Pelmeni Recalled Because it Was Uninspected

POST UPDATED. The recall has been updated by USDA because now “Siberoni” brand Pork Pelmeni has now been recalled.

Siberoni, a firm in Oregon, is recalling 169,655 pounds of raw and frozen meat and poultry “pelmeni”, a European-style ravioli product, which was made without the benefit of inspection. There have been no reports of illness associated with the consumption of these products.

The products are 1 pound packages, in 40 pound cases, of “Siberoni” brand Chicken Pelmeni, and 1 pound packages, in 40 pound caes, of “Siberoni” brand Beef Pelmeni. Also recalled are 1 pound packages, in 40 pound cases, of “Siberoni” brand Beef and Pork Pelmeni. The products have the establishment number “33788” or P-33788″ inside the USDA mark of inspection. The products were made before September 6, 2013, and were sold directly from the firm’s storefront and, via a distributor, to retail outlets in Oregon and Washington state.

There were no child nutrition, Department of Defense, or internet or catalog sales of this product. If you purchased this product, return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
