Western Mixers & Produce Recalls Pistachios for Possible Salmonella

Western Mixers Produce & Nut Company of Los Angeles, California is recalling Treasured Harvest Pistachios because they may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No Salmonella bacteria have been detected in any of the finished products; the company is recalling them out of an abundance of caution. The recall is of pistachios processed by ARO Pistachio during the 2012 harvest year.

The products are Treasured Harvest Roasted & Salted Pistachios. The 6 ounce clear plastic cup has lot numbers 123050, 123140, 123320, 123450, 123360, 130150, 130240, and 130350. The 12 ounce clear bag has lot number 130290. And the 28 ounce clear plastic tray has lot numbers 123100, 122960, and 123040. The pistachios were distributed in California, Nevada, Ohio and Utah through retail stores, mail order and distributors from October 17, 2012 through April 29, 2013.
