More Raw Carob Powder Recalled for Possible Salmonella

Sunburst Superfoods of New York is recalling raw carob powder because it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. No illnesses have been associated with this product.

The recalled product is Sunburst SUPERFOODS Organic Raw Carob Powder sold in 1 pound and 5 pound bags. There is no coding on the packages. The product is packaged in re-sealable, all-natural brown paper bags with a thin metal and plastic lining on the inside. It was distributed throughout the country to consumers through online sales.

The company’s supplier initiated a recall of the bulk Organic Raw Carob Powder after learning one of its customers had a positive test for Salmonella from the original lot. Sampling conducted by the manufacturer did not find Salmonella.

If you purchased this product, do not eat it. Discard in a sealed container or return to the place of purchase for a refund.
