Black & White Cookies Sold at Starbucks Recalled for Undeclared Milk

black-and-white-cookie-recallBlack & White cookies sold at Starbucks are being recalled for undeclared milk.  People with milk allergies or sensitivities should not eat these cookies as they run the risk of a serious or life-threatening reaction if they do.

The recalled cookies, sold in 12 states and Washington D.C., were made for Starbucks by Sweet Sam’s Baking Company of Bronx, NY. The company is recalling all lots of Starbucks Black & White Mini Cookies sold stores operated by Starbucks on or before Thursday, April 23rd, 2015.  The recalled cookies were sold in Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, New York, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania,  South Carolina,V irginia, Washington D.C. and West Virginia.

They were sold in 2.0 oz. (56 g) clear film packages containing two cookies. The words “Black & White Mini Cookies,” “A New York City Favorite,” and “Manufactured for: Starbucks Coffee Company,” appear on the package. The SKU is  408785, the UPC is 833282000495.

Two customers with milk allergies reported having an allergic reaction after consuming the product. No other illnesses were reported at the time of the recall.
