Jalapeno Recall Expanded

The recall of jalapeno peppers by the Castellini Company LLC on March 27, 2012 has been expanded to include more lot numbers. The list is long; you can see the lot numbers at the FDA site.

The peppers were sold in full case, 1/2 case, 20 pound, 10 pound, 5 pound, 2 pound, and 1 pound package sizes and were distributed March 8, 2012 through March 20, 2012.

They were sold to military commissaries, retailers, and foodservice distributors in these states:

  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Michigan
  • Ohio
  • Pennsylvania
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee
  • Virginia
  • West Virginia

Customers who have purchased these peppers should return them to the place of purchase for a refund. The company believes that the peppers should now be out of the supply chain. For questions, call Castellini Company at 1-859-442-4600 Monday through Friday from 8:00 am through 5:00 pm EST.

This recall is related to the recalls issued by South Florida Produce and Club Chef, and the recall in Canada.
