Frozen Pork Bellies Recalled for Lack of Inspection

Pork bellies produced by Quality Meats Inc. of  Omaha are being recalled because they were not presented at the border for U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety andInspection Service (USDA-FSIS.  FSIS issues a Public Health Alert for imported products that are recalled in their country of origin and a recall when imported products are not presented for inspection.

Recall SignageApproximately 44,372 pounds of frozen pork belly product in various weights labeled  “rosderra IRISH MEATS Swine Pork Belly” are being recalled. The recalled products have the Ireland establishment number “IE 356 EC.”  They were packaged March 18, 2014 through April 10, 2014 and shipped to retail establishments and distributors in Georgia, Illinois, and Washington where they were repackaged.

The problem was discovered during a routine review. There have been no reports of adverse reactions.
