Australian Lamb Recalled for Lack of Inspection

AMD Imports Inc. of  Houston is recalling approximately 35, 275 pounds of Australian lamb products because they were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection. Without inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists.

lamb-recallThere have been no reports of illness, but anyone concerned about a reaction should see a doctor.

The recalled products have the Australian mark of inspection with establishment number 2773. They were shipped to AMD Imports Inc., a Houston distributor and to to other distributors and retail locations.

The recalled products include: 17,500 lbs of Australian Bone-In Lamb Shoulder from Lot A weighing from 36 to 51 lbs each with package code 730030.  The product was packaged by Wagstaff Canbourne between September 8, 2014 and October 10, 2014. And 17,775 lbs of Australian Bone-In Lamb Shoulder from Lot B weighing from 36 to 51 lbs each with package code “730030”.  The product was packaged by Wagstaff Canbourne on dates ranging from September 8, 2014 – October 10, 2014.
