Bakery sliced creme cakes are being recalled by Southeastern Grocers, the parent company of BI-LO, Harveys and Winn-Dixie stores, for undeclared peanut. Consumers with peanut allergies or sensitivities should not eat these products as they risk allergic reaction if they do.
The 32 ounce Bakery Crème Cakes and 14 ounce Bakery Sliced Crème Cakes were sold at all BI-LO, Harveys and Winn-Dixie stores throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina and South Carolina.
The recalled products were sold between April 11, 2016 and April 26, 2016, with UPC codes of 205509000005, 205510000001, 205473000001, 205508000006, 205476000008, 205506000008, 205474000000 and 269740000002.
At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported. And all recalled products remaining at stores have been discarded.
The recall was issued after Southeastern Grocers was notified by a supplier, Benson’s Bakery, that the products potentially contained peanuts that were not declared on the label.
Consumers affected by the recall can return to the store for a full refund.
