More Rose Acre Farms Shell Eggs Recalled For Possible Salmonella Contamination

The FDA has posted another notice for recalls of shell eggs for possible Salmonella contamination. There is a multistate Salmonella Braenderup outbreak linked to other recalled eggs produced by Rose Acre Farms that has sickened at least 23 people in 8 states.

Eggs in this new recall, posed on April 16, 2018, have not been associated with any illnesses. The eggs were purchased from Rose Acre Farms and re-packaged at the Cal-Maine Food Inc.’s Dade City, Florida location. The company was notified by Rose Acre Farms about the potential contamination and is issuing the recall out of an abundance of caution.

Cal-Maine is recalling one load, or 23,400 dozen eggs. The eggs have the plant number P-1359D, and will have a Julian date of either 048A or 049A and a best by date of April 2, 2018, or April 3, 2018. The Julian date follows the plant number, for example, P-1359D-048A. The eggs were distributed in Florida. All customers who have received these eggs have been notified of the recall.

The recalled eggs include Publix Grade A extra large eggs 18 pack, with UPC number 0 41415 00966 0; Lot numbers P1359D 048A
P1359D 049A, and Best By Dates APR 02 and APR 03. Also recalled is Sunups Grade A large eggs 18 pack, with UPC number 0 28621 36398 4, Lot number P1359D 049A, and Best By Date of APR 03. In addition, XLG Loose Generic 15 DZ eggs are recalled, with no UPC number, Lot number P1359D 048A, and Best By date APR 02. Restricted Eggs, with no UPC number are also recalled, with Lot numbers P1359D 048A and P1359D 049A and Best By dates of APR 02 and APR 03. Finally, Breaking Stock 30DZ is recalled, with no UPC number, and Lot numbers P1359D 048A and P1359D 049A, and Best By dates APR 02 and APR 03.

If you purchased any of these eggs, don’t eat them. Throw them away in a sealed container, or take them back to the store where you purchased them for a full refund.
