Cyclospora cayetanensis is a microscopic parasite. It can contaminate food or water and then, when ingested, causes an illness called cyclosporiasis.  Symptoms of cyclosporiasis include watery and explosive diarrhea, fatigue, bloating, gas, nausea, loss of appetite, body aches, weight loss, stomach cramps and pain, headache, fever, and flu-like symptoms.

If not treated, this illness can last for weeks or months and can recur without warning. Some people, especially those in groups that are at high risk for serious food poisoning complications, can become dehydrated and need hospitalization.

If you have eaten this product and have been ill with these symptoms, see your doctor. There is treatment for this illness.
