San Danielle Mortadella Recalled in Canada for Listeria

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Lady York Foods are recalling San Danielle Mortadella meat because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. No illnesses have been reported to date, but listeriosis, the illness caused by this bacteria, can take up to 70 days to appear. The recalled product is San Danielle Spicy Mortadella sliced and sold from the deli counter at Lady York Foods at 2939 Dufferin Street in North York, Ontario on February 18, 2015 but labelled as "San Daniella Mortadella - Regular or Lean." It was sold in variable weight sizes with variable UPC numbers. The meat is a product of Italy. The code on the product is "PACKED ON 2015.FEB.18." Imported Pork Products Recalled for Lack of Inspection

ESS Food, in Denmark, is recalling 50,904 pounds of pork belly produced in Poland that was not presented at the port of entry for inspection. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. No illnesses have been reported to date. The recalled product is 40 pound boxes containing 4 - 5 pieces of "Pini Polana Pork Belly Boneless." It was produced on various dates from March 3, 2014 to April 11, 2014. The products have the establishment number "10023802" inside the Polish mark of inspection. They were shipped to a distributor in Texas and a processing facility in Iowa. Wraps Recalled for Undeclared Milk and Yellow #5

El Popocatepetl Ind. is recalling some sandwich wraps because they may contain undeclared milk and Yellow #5. No illnesses have been reported to date. You can see pictures of product labels at the FDA web site. The recalled products were sold in Illinois, primarily in the Chicago area. They include 8 inch Sundried Tomato Wraps with UPC number 0 20784 99505 7 and any best by date of April 1, 2015 and before.  Also recalled are 8 inch Spinach Flavored Wraps with UPC number 0 20784 58314 8 and the same best by dates. The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and Shiny Star Canada are recalling Jack 'N Jill brand Chicharron products because they contain wheat that is not declared on the label. Anyone with celiac disease or an allergy to wheat could have a serious allergic reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses have been reported to date. The recalled products are Jack 'N Jill brand. All codes where wheat is not declared on the label are recalled. They are both sold in 90 gram packages.
