A worker at the Applebee's restaurant at 1525 West Lexington Avenue in Winchester, New York has been diagnosed with hepatitis A, according to a public health advisory posted by the Clark County Health Department. That person worked there from November 14 through November 25, 2018. That means it is too late to get a hepatitis A or immune globulin vaccination, since the shot is only effective if given within two weeks of exposure. If you ate food or drank beverages there during that time period, all you can do is monitor yourself for the symptoms of hepatitis A. Hepatitis A Warning For Sonny’s BBQ In Richmond, KY

A hepatitis A warning has been issued by the Madison County Health Department for anyone who ate at Sonny's BBQ on Center Drive in Richmond, Kentucky between November 18 and December 1, 2018. There is a hepatitis A outbreak in that area of the country. The Health Department has been recommending hepatitis A vaccinations for everyone in the community, since a county wide outbreak was declared on October 24, 2018. An employee at the McDonald's at 506 South Main Street in Owenton, Kentucky has been diagnosed with hepatitis A, according to a press release from the Three Rivers District Health Department. Officials recommend that people in Carroll, Gallatin, Owen, and Pendleton Counties get a hepatitis A or immune globulin vaccine. That employee worked at that facility from August 16 through August 27, 2018. That is within the two week time frame when a vaccine can help protect against the disease. Employees at two restaurants in Louisville, Kentucky have been diagnosed with hepatitis A, a very contagious virus that affects the liver. Those employees worked with food at the Domino's Pizza at 10000 Brownsboro Road, and at Old Chicago Pizza and Tap Room at 9013 Taylorsville Road. Anyone who ate at that Domino's from April 15 to April 28, 2018, and anyone who ate at that Old Chicago restaurant from April 21 to May 5, 2018 may have been exposed to the pathogenic virus. Two food service workers in Louisville, Kentucky have been diagnosed with hepatitis A, according to the Louisville Metro Department of Public Health and Wellness. Employees at Mark's Feed Store restaurant at 11422 Shelbyville Road, and Panera restaurant at 1801 Rudy Lane in that city are sick. Anyone who ate at Mark's Feed Store from April 13 to April 17, 2018, and anyone who ate at Panera from April 12 to April 28, 2018 may have been exposed to the pathogenic virus. One person who worked at two Waffle House locations in Boyd County in northeastern Kentucky has been diagnosed with hepatitis A, according to a Public Health Advisory posted on the Ashland-Boy County Health Department Facebook page. The employee worked at both locations while he was infectious. The window of possible exposure was February 12 through February 28, 2018. The Waffle House owner and employees have cooperated fully with the local and state health officials to try to identify all possible employee contacts. Kroger Employee in One Louisville, Kentucky Store Diagnosed with Hepatitis A

A Kroger employee who worked at a store at 4915 Dixie Highway in Louisville was diagnosed with hepatitis A. That person worked there from February 4 through  February 28, 2018, potentially exposing many people. Any produce purchased at that store during that time frame shold be thrown away. No notice about this has been posted at the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services, but a notice about the multi-county outbreak of hepatitis A was posted, stating that there have been 117 cases of the illness this year, most in the Jefferson County/Louisville area. Shigella Outbreak in Nelson and Hardin Counties, KY

A Shigella outbreak in Nelson and Hardin Counties, Kentucky, has been confirmed by Donny Gill, Harm Reduction Manager at the Lincoln Trail District Health Department.  Just over 50 cases have been reported to the health department. Most of those sickened are children. The source "has been determined to be a Nelson county daycare center," according to Mr. Gill. That daycare has not been named. Mirna Chamorro, Public Information Officer at the Florida Department of Health, Seminole County, also confirmed the outbreak. She said that letters were sent to parents to provide general information on Shigella and to let parents know that if their children have symptoms, keep them at home until 48 hours after symptoms have passed.
