Kenosha, Wisconsin Los Corrales Salmonella Outbreak Grows

According to the Kenosha County Division of Health, the Salmonella outbreak that has sickened at least 60 people may be associated with the Supermercado Los Corrales market in Kenosha, Wisconsin. That supermarket is at 3933 52nd Street in Kenosha. The source of the outbreak has not been definitively confirmed as of May 19, 2015. Those sickened purchased and ate food, particularly pork carnitas, from that market over Mother's Day weekend earlier this month. So far, two people have tested positive for the same strain of Salmonella bacteria. The investigation started on May 15, 2015 when the Division of health received positive Salmonella lab reports. Los Corrales Pork Carnitas Suspect in Kenosha Salmonella Outbeak

Pork carnitas from Los Corrales grocery store in Kenosha, Wis. are suspected in Salmonella outbreak that has sickened at least 20 people, according to a report by WISN news.  Small children were among those who became so ill they were hospitalized. Some of those who were sickened reported buying and eating pork carnitas on Mother's Day, May 10, before they became seriously ill. The Kenosha County Health Department is working with the Wisconsin Department of Health on the outbreak. The meat counter at the store has been closed for an indefinite period of time while the investigation continues. Salmonella poisoning causes vomiting and diarrhea that can be bloody. Symtoms, which usually appear between six and 72 hours after exposure can last for a week.
