National Mango Board Selective With Facts On Salmonella Outbreak

The best thing to do during a mango Salmonella outbreak is limit speculation and share the facts, according to the National Mango Board (NMB), an industry promotion and research group. And the NMB promises to share those facts with consumers as soon as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) makes a “formal announcement” about the Salmonella outbreak, William Watson, NMB’s executive director says in a letter. F&S Recalls Products Made with Mexican Daniella Mangoes

F&S Produce Co. Inc of New Jersey is recalling products made with fresh cut mangoes for possible Salmonella Braenderup contamination. The products have an expiration date of August 28, 2012, but they may still be in customer's homes. None of the illnesses in the nationwide outbreak of Salmonella Braenderup have been linked to F&S products. Four More Derivative Daniella Mango Recalls for Salmonella

The FDA has released four more derivative recalls for products made with Daniella brand mangoes. The fruit has been recalled for possible Salmonella Braenderup contamination and is linked to a nationwide outbreak. Ready Pac Foods of California is recalling packaged fruit products containing the mangoes that were recalled by Splendid Products Inc. You can see the long list of products at the FDA site. Canadian Recall of Daniella Mangoes Expands Again

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is expanding the recall of Daniella mangoes to include additional sale dates. The mangoes may be contaminated with Salmonella Braenderup and are linked to an outbreak that has sickened at least 21 people. The Daniella brand mangoes, imported from Mexico, were sold as individual fruit with a sticker with the PLU # 4959. The mangoes were sold at retail stores between July 12 and August 31, 2012. Contact your retailer to find out if you have the affecgted mangoes. And if you have any symptoms of salmonellosis, including diarrhea, fever, chills, abdominal cramps, nausea, and vomiting, see your healthcare provider immediately. Catania Brand Mangoes Recalled for Salmonella Braenderup

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and M.L. Catania Co. Ltd. are recalling Daniella brand mangoes packed with the Catania label because they may be contaminated with Salmonella Braenderup. This is part of the recall of Daniella mangoes in Canada and the United States, which is linked to a Salmonella Braenderup outbreak in both countries that has sickened at least 127 people. The affected product is Daniella brand mangoes packed by M.L. Catania Co. Ltd. The mangoes were sold in a 6-pack plastic clamshell with UPC number 0 61968 61603 0 and a Pack date from 12 JL 19 to 12 AU 21. BI-LO is recalling whole Daniella brand mangoes for possible Salmonella Braenderup contamination. The mangoes, imported from Mexico, were sold in stores between July 12, 2012 and August 27, 2012. The fruit was sold as individual fruit and can be identified by the Daniella brand sticker and UPC number 0-00000-04051. The recall is for fruit sold in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee. The company has received no reports of illness associated with this product, but the mangoes are linked to a nationwide outbreak that has sickened 105 people in 16 states. The FDA just announced more recalls for Daniella mangoes imported from Mexico and products made with the fruit for possible Salmonella Braenderup contamination. The fruit is linked to a multistate outbreak that has sickened 105 people in 16 states. Winn-Dixie has announced a recall of cut fruit produced by Renaissance Food Group. Here's where the recall gets confusing, because the names and the UPC numbers are the same as the World Food products recalled earlier today.
