Listeria concerns have prompted a recall expansion of smoked salmon products sold at Sam’s Club, other stores and food service companies nationwide. Delifish expanded the recall, originally announced December 31, to include all products made during the same time period as the product that originally tested positive for Listeria during routine testing. There have been no other positive tests for the bacteria. Delifish is expanding the recall as a precautionary measure as Listeria can cause serious and sometimes fatal illness. Symptoms of an infection from Listeria monocytogenes high fever, severe headache, stiff neck, muscle stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea, Among pregnant women, Listeria can cause miscarriages and stillbirths.
