ShopRite Chocolate Chips Recalled for Undeclared Milk

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that Wakefern Food Corporation has issued a recall for its ShopRite brand of “SEMI-SWEET REAL CHOCOLATE CHIPS.” These chocolate chips may contain milk, which was not declared on the package’s allergy statement or ingredient list. The chocolate chips affected by the recall were sold in 24-ounce bags in ShopRite, The Fresh Grocer, and other retail stores throughout the Northeastern United States. The bags are stamped with the UPC code 041190 02668 and “Best If Used By” dates of April 11, 2019 and April 12, 2019. LiveGfree White Hamburger Buns Recalled for Undeclared Egg Allergen

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that Vibrant Health Products, a bakery located in Abbotsford, B.C., Canada, has recalled a single lot of its “liveGfree Gluten Free Classic Soft White Hamburger Buns.” In a packaging error, the bakery inadvertently packaged its “liveGfree Gluten Free White Bread,” which contains egg, in the “Soft White Hamburger Buns” packaging. The labels on this packaging material do not mention the presence of the egg allergen. Chicken and Beef Products Recalled by Custom Culinary, Inc.

A Class II (“Low Health Risk”) recall has been issued for over 9,400 pounds of chicken and beef soup base products by Custom Culinary, Inc. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), these products were mislabeled, with packaging that identified the products as chicken when they might contain beef. The products also contained the soy allergen, which was not listed on the labels.
