Zingerman’s Black Magic Brownies Recalled For Walnuts

Zingerman's Black Magic Brownies in two package sizes are being recalled because they may contain walnuts, or tree nuts, that are not declared on the product label as required by law. Anyone who is allergic to walnuts could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. No illnesses or allergy reactions have been reported to the company to date in connection with the consumption of this item. The recalling firm is Zingerman's Bakehouse of Ann Arbor, Michigan. The brownies were sold in Southeast Michigan through retail stores and also online from the Zingerman's web site. The recall was triggered by a customer who found a walnut in a brownie, and the label did not list walnuts as an ingredient. An investigation is pending. Wegmans Recalls Muffins for Undeclared Walnuts

The grocery chain Wegmans has recalled 4-packs of muffins from its stores because these may include a banana nut muffin which contains walnuts, which were not mentioned on the packaging’s ingredients list or allergy warning. As the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports, the containers affected by this recall are marked with the UPC code 77890-22744. People who are allergic to walnuts run the risk of life-threatening illness should they consume these muffins. Blondie Cookies Recalled by Fairway “Like No Other Market”

Fairway ‘‘Like No Other Market’’®, a grocery chain headquartered in New York, New York, has recalled its “FAIRWAY BRAND COOKIES BLONDIE.” According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, these blondie cookies may contain walnuts which were not declared on the product labeling. The cookies affected by the recall were distributed to Fairway stores in the states of Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. They were also sent to customers through the home delivery programs at Google, Fairway E-commerce, and Instacart. The cookies were packaged in 10-ounce octagonal plastic containers stamped with the item codes 268492 XXXXXX or 263413 XXXXXX.
