Multiple Masa’s Gourmet Sauces Recalled for Undeclared Milk

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) reports that Rikki USA, Inc., based in Redmond, Washington, has recalled three varieties of Masa’s Gourmet Sauces. These sauces may contain the milk allergen, which was not mentioned on the products’ ingredients lists or allergy statements. The sauce products were shipped to distributors in the states of California, Illinois, New York, Oregon, and Washington. Poultry and Beef Products Recalled by Golden Platter Foods Inc. for Undeclared Milk Allergen

Almost 31,670 pounds of poultry and beef products have been recalled by Golden Platter Foods Inc., based in Newark, New Jersey. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), this “Class I” recall arises from the discovery that these products may contain the milk allergen – a fact not noted on the product packaging. On June 6, 2017, Golden Platter Foods was informed by one of its suppliers that the batter and cracker meal they use in preparing these food products might contain undeclared milk allergens. Siluriformes Fish Products Recalled for Misbranding and Undeclared Milk

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) reports that Channel Fish Processing Co., Inc., headquartered in Boston, MA, has issued a Class I recall of 840 pounds of its breaded Swai (Vietnamese catfish) products. These products may contain undeclared milk allergens. Like many recent recalls by diverse manufacturers of breaded fish and chicken products, this recall was prompted after a supplier alerted FSIS on June 14, 2017 that the product’s breaded coating might contain milk. Milk is not reported on the swai products’ ingredients label or allergy statement. Chicken Tenders and Breaded Dark Meat Recalled for Undeclared Milk

Advance Pierre Foods, Inc., located in Portland, Maine, has recalled over 54,690 pounds of its chicken tenders and breaded dark meat chicken products. As reported by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS), this Class I recall was issued because the chicken may the milk allergen, undeclared on the product labeling. The chicken products affected by the recall, “CHICKEN TENDERS SEA SALT AND GROUND PEPPER” and “PREMIUM ENTRÉE TRADITIONAL SAGE RAW BREADED DARK MEAT CHICKEN” were distributed in the states of California, Nebraska, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Texas. Western Family Onion Soup Mix Recalled for Undeclared Egg Allergen

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) reports that Gilster-Mary Lee Corp., headquartered in Chester, Illinois, has recalled a single lot of its “WESTERN FAMILY ONION SOUP MIX” product. The soup mix may contain the egg allergen. After receiving a customer complaint, Gilster-Mary Lee Corp. ascertained that the egg noodles contained in the soup mix were not declared on its labeling. The affected lot, distributed only to Associated Foods Warehouse in Farr West, Utah, was packaged in 4.5-ounce cartons stamped with the UPC code number 15400-03604. Mochi Ice Cream Recalled by Mikawaya for Undeclared Peanuts

Mikawaya has issued a recall of its “Mikawaya Brand Chocolate Chocolate Mochi Ice Cream” for undeclared peanuts. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), this recall was prompted by a customer who alerted the company that the ice cream contained undeclared peanut butter. The ice cream, distributed to all Trader Joe’s stores nationwide, is packaged in a paperboard box which contains 9.1 ounces (258g) of 6 1.5-ounce (43g) pieces. The affected boxes are stamped with a UPC code of 070934990609 and the lot number LOT 090-17. “Chef Luca’s Lasagna Al Forno – Baked Cheese Lasagna” has been recalled after one consumer suffered anaphylaxis shock on May 12th, 2017, after eating it. According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Italian Gluten Free Food CL initiated the recall after investigating the incident and discovering that the lasagna may contain the undeclared egg allergen. Italian Gluten Free CL is headquartered in Merrick, New York. The ingredients list and required allergy warning on the 15-ounce (425 grams) packages of the lasagna did not declare the presence of eggs. Foods, Inc., based in Palmyra, Pennsylvania, has recalled a single lot of its “Wegmans Family Pack Food You Feel Good About Potato Salad.” This product may contain the egg allergen, which is not declared on its labeling. Beef Chile Colorado Frozen Meals Recalled for Undeclared Milk

Blount Fine Foods, Corp. has announced a recall of more than 8,600 pounds of its “Beef Chile Colorado” frozen meals because of erroneous labelling. According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the company’s packages labeled as “Beef Chile Colorado” actually contain cheese enchiladas containing milk – a dangerous allergen for those who are susceptible to it. Blount Fine Foods is headquartered in McKinney, Texas. The recall affects “Beef Chile Colorado” frozen meals that were produced on Nov. 23, 2016.
