Diamond Pet Foods is expanding its recall of Chicken Soup for the Pet Lover’s Soul dry dog food for possible Salmonella contamination. The original April 6, 2012 recall focused on Diamond Naturals Lamb and Rice dry dog food.

The products were distributed in Florida, Kentucky, Massachusetts, Michigan, New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia, who may have distributed the product to other states.
Pets with Salmonella infections may have decreased appetite, fever, and abdominal pain. Pets can be carriers and can infect other animals or people. And people handling the dry dog food can contract Salmonella poisoning.
