Zachary Confections of Indiana is voluntarily recalling one lot of Market Pantry Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds sold exclusively at Target because they may contain peanuts, one of the major food allergens, that is not declared on the label. Anyone with an allergy to peanuts could have a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they consume this product. No reactions have been reported to date. The recalled product is Market Pantry Brand Dark Chocolate Covered Almonds in 9 ounce packages. The UPC number is 085239555644, the lot code is R4112D and the best before date is 7/4/2015. Whole Foods Recalls Raw Almonds for Hydrogen Cyanide

Organic Raw Almonds (bitter almonds) sold at Whole Foods stores in Northern California, Oregon, Washington, Reno, Nevada and Boise are being recalled for elevated levels of naturally occurring hydrogen cyanide. At the time of the recall, no illnesses had been reported according to laboratory test results, but consumers who have purchased these nuts should not eat them. The nuts, imported from Italy and Spain and distributed by Marin Foods Specialties, Inc. of Byron, Calif., are described in the recall notice as "the wild form of the edible sweet almonds."  Bitter almonds contain  glycoside amygdalin,  chemical which creates hydrogen cyanide when the almonds are crushed or chewed. In Canada, Famous Foods is recalling chocolate almonds because they contain undeclared milk, one of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy or sensitivity to milk could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. There is no information about any illnesses or reactions to date. The recalled product is Chocolate Almonds Pure Semi Sweet in 230 gram packages with UPC number 0 203033 105999 and all codes where milk is not declared on the list of ingredients. Dark Chocolate Almonds Recalled for Undeclared Peanuts

Vitamin Cottage Natural Food Markets Inc. of  Lakewood, CO is recalling one lot of six-ounce packages of Natural Grocers brand Dark Chocolate Almonds because they may contain an undeclared allergen, peanuts. People with peanut allergies should not eat this product as they run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they do. The recalled products have "packed-on date 13-351" on their labels and the UPC code 0-0008265007-0.  The dark chocolate covered peanuts are similar in color and sheen to the almonds, but the peanuts are about half the size of the almonds.
