Two Cyclospora Outbreaks Sicken 95 People; Lawsuits Are Filed

Four significant food poisoning outbreaks have occurred in May and June of 2018 in the U.S. Two Salmonella outbreaks and two cyclospora outbreaks have sickened more than 200 people and hospitalized dozens. Here's what you need to know about the cyclospora outbreaks. The first cyclospora outbreak has sickened 78 people. It is linked to Del Monte Vegetable Trays in three sizes that were sold at Kwik Trip/Kwik Star locations and several other stores in Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Minnesota Updates Cyclospora Outbreak Linked to Kwik Trip Del Monte Vegetable Trays; Patients Will Sue

The cyclospora outbreak linked to Kwik Trip Del Monte vegetable trays has been updated by the Minnesota Department of Health. To date, 20 people have been sickened just in Minnesota. Wisconsin may update their outbreak totals today or next week. Another cyclospora outbreak was just announced, that is associated with Sonora Grill restaurant in Minneapolis. Kwik Trip is cooperating with this outbreak and has removed the vegetable trays from their shelves. Cases report purchasing the vegetable trays at various Kwik Trip locations around the state. Attorneys File Second Lawsuit in Cyclospora Outbreak Linked to Del Monte Vegetable Trays Sold at Kwik Trip; More Will Sue

Attorneys at Pritzker Hageman have filed a second lawsuit in the multistate cyclospora outbreak that is linked to recalled Del Monte Vegetable Trays sold at Kwik Trip stores in Minnesota and Wisconsin. This suit was filed in the State of Wisconsin Circuit Court in Eau Claire County. Their client lives in Eau Clare County, Wisconsin. The defendants are Del Monte Fresh Product, Inc., and Kwik Trip. Their client bought multiple Del Monte Vegetable Trays at a Kwik Trip in Eau Claire from May 14 through May 29, 2018. On May 30, 2018, she began suffering nausea and stomach pain. The next day, she suffered vomiting and diarrhea, which was debilitating. She visited her doctor on June 8, 2018. A stool sample yielded a positive test for Cyclospora the next day. Lawyers File First MN Cyclospora Lawsuit Against Del Monte Fresh Produce; Others May Sue

Lawyers at Pritzker Hageman have filed the first cyclospora lawsuit against Del Monte Fresh Product on June 12, 2018. The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota. A cyclospora outbreak that has sickened 14 people in Minnesota and Wisconsin was announced by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services on June 8, 2018. Four case patients live in Minnesota; eleven live in Wisconsin. The outbreak announcement stated that Del Monte Vegetable Trays sold at Kwik Trip locations in the two states were being recalled and that they "pose a potential health risk." The Wisconsin Department of Health services has released a bulletin about this outbreak. Eleven people in Wisconsin and three people in Minnesota are sick. They reported purchasing a vegetable tray from a Kwik Trip location before they got sick. The trays contained broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and dill dip.
