Boulder Ice Cream has announced a voluntary recall of certain ice cream and gelato products manufactured using peanut ingredients recalled by Sunland Inc. for potential Salmonella contamination. The company was notified by their manufacturer Fresca Foods, Inc. located in Louisville, CO that Sunland peanuts were and may have been used in the production of certain peanut butter products in the past. The products were distributed nationwide to large supermarket chains; the larger format container products were distributed to food service. The UPC is located on the side and the "Best By" date is imprinted on the bottom of each 16 oz consumer pint container and on the sides of food service containers. Bumble Bar Recalls Bars Made with Sunland Peanuts
Bumble Bar is recalling some lots of their Gluten Free Café™ Chocolate Sesame Bars and Gluten Free Café™ Cinnamon Sesame Bars because they were made with Sunland peanuts. Those nuts have been recalled for possible Salmonella contamination. Sunland made Trader Joe's Valencia peanut butter is linked to a Salmonella Bredeney outbreak that has sickened 38 people in the United States, most of them children. Four Derivative Recalls Linked to Sunland Whole Peanut Recall
Four companies are recalling peanut products relating to the Sunland recall for possible Salmonella contamination. The derivative recalls will expand now that Sunland has recalled whole roasted and raw peanuts. No illnesses have been reported in relation to these recalled products. JagRma LLC is recalling NuttZo Original 16 ounce Nut and Seed butter because it was made with Sunland peanuts. The product was manufactured in October and November 2011 and has "Best By Dates" of 10/7/12 - 12/31/12 stamped on the lid or bottom of the jar.
