Rad Cat Raw Diet Pet Foods Lots Recalled for Possible Listeria and E. coli O121 Contamination

Radagast Pet Food of Portland, Oregon is recalling three lots of Rad Cat Raw Diet Free-Range Chicken Recipe pet food because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. Also recalled is one lot of Rad Cat Raw Diet Pasture-Raised Venison Recipe because it may be contaminated with E coli O121. The risk to humans is that people handing these products could ingest these pathogenic bacteria if they don't wash their hands after handling these products. And animals eating these pet foods could get sick or become carriers, and pass the bacteria on to people. Good Buddy and Backcountry Dog Treats Recalled for Elevated Thyroid Hormone

Merrick Pet Care of Amarillo, Texas, is voluntarily recalling some of their beef dog treat varieties because they may have elevated levels of a naturally occurring beef thyroid hormone. There has been one consumer complaint to the FDA of a dog's health that was temporarily affected while eating Merrick Backcountry Great Plains Real Beef Jerky. The dog's health improved and full yrecovered after its owners stopped giving it the treat. No similar reports have been received to date. More raw dog food has been recalled for possible Salmonella contamination. The products were produced by Carnivore Meat Company and TruPet LLC. No illnesses have been reported to date in connection with either recall. The first recall is for products made by TruPet LLC of Milford, Ohio. It is for 400 cases of "Boost Me" Mighty Meaty Beef Topper Meal Enhancer. These products were distributed via the online retailers Chewy.com and TruDog.com. The TruDog Boost Me Mighty Meaty Beef Topper Meal Enhancer has the lot number 20190531 13815. Redbarn Pet Products is expanding their voluntary recall of dog chew products for possible Salmonella contamination that was issued on February 9, 2018. Now, all lots of product that were made with raw material from a single supplier are recalled. The recall is for products that were distributed from March 2017 to February 2018. Blue Ridge Beef Recalls Kitten Grind Raw Pet Food for Possible Salmonella and Listeria Monocytogenes

Blue Ridge Beef of Georgia is recalling one lot of Kitten Grind raw pet food because it may be contaminated with Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes bacteria. The FDA received a complaint of two kitten deaths. One of the deaths was confirmed caused by Salmonella septicemia. Testing of Kitten Grind lot number GA1102 found both bacteria. The recalled lot contains 20 cases or 300 chubs of the product. It was shipped to Texas, Georgia, South Carolina, Tennessee, and North Carolina. The Kitten Grind two pound chubs are sold frozen.
