In Canada, DSI Chicken Ham Soya Product Recalled for Allergens

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency and DSI Food Corporation are recalling DSI Chicken Ham Soya Style Product because it contains egg, wheat, and gluten that are not declared on the label. Those are three of the major food allergens. Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to egg and/or gluten could have a serious reaction if they eat this product. There is no word on whether any allergic reactions or illnesses have been reported. The recalled product, DSI Chicken Ham Soya Style Product, is sold in 1 kg packages. All codes where egg, wheat, and gluten are not declared on the label are recalled. The UPC number is 6 76457 00089 6. The product was sold in Alberta at the retail level. Food Recalls in Canada

There are two food recalls in Canada to report today Waferballs are being recalled because they contain undeclared sesame seeds, and TenTen brand cereal is recalled for undeclared milk. Anyone with allergies to these ingredients could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume these products. Omega Food Importers Co. Ltd. is recalling Papagena Fine Bakeries Waferballs - Peanut & Coconut in 300 gram packages for undeclared sesame seeds. They are considered a tree nut. The code on the product is 24.09.2014 A and the UPC number is 9 002859 052842. They were sold in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, and Ontario at the retail level. In Canada, Rice Porridge Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency is recalling Korean Rice Porridge in two varieties because they contain undeclared shellfish, milk, and sesame that are not listed on the label. Those ingredients can cause serious or life-threatening reactions to anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity. No allergic reactions have been reported to date. The recalled products include Korean characters only Rice Porridge with Vegetable in 285 gram packages. Sugar Lake Farms Chicken Tenders Recalled for Egg and Wheat

Prime Pak Foods of Georgia is recalling about 24,000 pounds of fully cooked breaded chicken breast products for misbranding and undeclared allergens. The products were made with egg and wheat, two of the major food allergens, that are not declared on the label. The recalled products are 2, 5-pound bags in a 10-pound box of "Sugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Breaded Chicken Breast Tenders". The product code is 77422. Also recalled are 2, 5-pound bags in a 10-pound box of "Sugar Lake Farms Fully Cooked Spicy Breaded Chicken Breast Chunks" with a produce code of 77448. Chocolate Bars Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

Two types of chocolate bars are being recalled for undeclared allergens. Luna Bars is recalling Chocolate Chunk bars because they contain undeclared macadamia nuts. And Alprose is recalling several types of chocolate bars for undeclared milk. The Luna Bar products, made by Clif Bar & Company, include 15 count boxes of Chocolate Chunk LUNA Bars made with macadamia nut butter. The label does not include macadamia nuts in the ingredient list or on the allergen statement. The wrappers do say that the product may contain traces of other tree nuts. New World Imports and the CFIA are recalling two products imported by that company into Canada because they contain undeclared allergens. Cheese crackers contain undeclared milk, and Dried Bean Curd (Stick) contains undeclared sulphites. Anyone with an allergy or severe sensitivity to those ingredients could have a serious or life-threatening reaction if they consume those products. We are going to start reporting on the FDA Enforcement Reports that are issued every week. These are  several Class I recalls that are not individually reported.  Class I recalls are "a situation in which there is a reasonable probability that the use of or exposure to a violative product will cause serious adverse health consequences or death," according to the agency.
