Beef Imported From Japan Recalled for Lack of Inspection

Jinon Corporation of California is recalling 359 pounds of frozen boneless beef products produced in Japan that were not presented for inspection when they entered the U.S. No reports of adverse reactions of illness related to the consumption of these products have been reported to date. The products are packages of various sizes containing cuts of Tender Loin, Chuck Roll, Ribeye, Strip Loin, Brisket, Chuck Short Ribs, Inside, Outside, Short Ribs, Top Sirloin Butt, Clod, Knuckle, Short Plate and Shank. The beef is marked with a Nijiya Market label. They were produced in Japan on August 6, 2014 and imported in September 2014. Australian Lamb Recalled for Lack of Inspection

AMD Imports Inc. of  Houston is recalling approximately 35, 275 pounds of Australian lamb products because they were not presented at the U.S. point of entry for inspection. Without inspection, a possibility of adverse health consequences exists. There have been no reports of illness, but anyone concerned about a reaction should see a doctor. The recalled products have the Australian mark of inspection with establishment number 2773. They were shipped to AMD Imports Inc., a Houston distributor and to to other distributors and retail locations. Pork Leg Produced Without Inspection Recalled

BMG Trading of Ontario, Canada is recalling 26,108 pounds of pork products that were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. The problem was discovered using the Public Health Information System during a weekly review of import shipment data. The product was not presented at the Canadian border for FSIS reinspection. No reports of illness or other problems have been received to date. The recalled items are 1800 pound combo bins, each containing 65 to 75 kg of Pork Leg Flank On Combo. The products have the establishment number "394" inside the Canadian mark of inspection as well as a health certificate number listed as "CERT. No. CDERT. 097400." Frozen Pork Bellies Recalled for Lack of Inspection

Pork bellies produced by Quality Meats Inc. of  Omaha are being recalled because they were not presented at the border for U.S. Department of Agriculture Food Safety andInspection Service (USDA-FSIS.  FSIS issues a Public Health Alert for imported products that are recalled in their country of origin and a recall when imported products are not presented for inspection. Approximately 44,372 pounds of frozen pork belly product in various weights labeled  "rosderra IRISH MEATS Swine Pork Belly” are being recalled. The recalled products have the Ireland establishment number “IE 356 EC.”  They were packaged March 18, 2014 through April 10, 2014 and shipped to retail establishments and distributors in Georgia, Illinois, and Washington where they were repackaged. Lamb Products from Iceland Recalled for No Import Inspection

E&B's Natural Way of Maryland is recalling 27,948 pounds of raw lamb products because they were not presented at the U.S. border for USDA-FSIS import inspection. Without the benefit of full inspection, a possibility of "adverse health consequences" exists, according to the USDA. No reports of adverse reactions have been received to date. The recalled products were packaged on October 21, 2013, and September 2, 20, 21, and 22, 2014. USDA Issues Alert For Restaurant Breaded Chicken

The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has issued a public health alert for breaded chicken produced by VU Foods of Kansas City, Mo. which was not inspected but sold to restaurants. Meat that is not inspected is considered unfit for human consumption by the USDA. Because VU Foods would not recall the products, the USDA FSIS has issued an alert. No illnesses have been reported in connection with the chicken products. The products included in the warning bear the establishment number “P-45038” inside the USDA mark of inspection or on the label. Kanai Foods Recalls Chicken Produced Without HACCP Plan

Kanai Foods of Nevada is recalling 59 pounds of various chicken products because they were not made under a fully implemented Ready-to-Eat Hazard Analysis & Critical Control Points (HACCP) plan. No reports of illness have been received to date. The recalled products are Teriyaki Chicken Rice Bowls in 12 ounce packages, and Orange Chicken Rice Bowls in 12 ounce packages. The products have the establishment number "P-46002" inside the USDA mark of inspection and "use by" dates of 6/30/14 - 7/4/14 on the label. Recalled Pork and Poultry Produced without Inspection

Transatlantic Foods of New York is recalling about 222,000 pounds of pork and poultry products that were not federally inspected, according to the USDA. One of their establishments in New Jersey had not been issued an FSIS Grant of Inspection. That operation was producing product and using labels approved for use by, and bearing the establishment number of, a facility in Pennsylvania. Any food produced without inspection is considered unfit for human consumption. In addition, the company was producing products in undisclosed locations without inspection. Bolzano Salami Recalled; Produced Without Federal Inspection

Bolzano Artisan Meats of Wisconsin is recalling 5,723 pounds of salami products for misbranding and because they were produced without the benefit of federal inspection. The products have the Wisconsin state inspection shield, but they "incorrectly bear the Cooperative Interstate Shipment (CIS) program version of the USDA mark of inspection, which requires federal acceptance into the program." That establishment is not part of the CIS program so these products cannot be sold through interstate commerce. Santa Maria Foods of Ontario, Canada is recalling about 8,895 pounds of various meat products because they were made without full USDA inspection, according to the FSIS. A "remote possibility" of adverse health consequences exists. No reports of illness have been received to date.
