Multiple Deli Products Recalled by Dierbergs Markets for Undeclared Allergens

The U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that Dierbergs Markets has issued a recall of several of its deli products. These products, distributed to retail grocery stores in eastern and central Missouri and western Illinois, may contain undeclared fish and / or milk allergens. Dierbergs Markets is headquartered in St. Louis, Missouri. The products affected by the recall were those containing a Caesar dressing (which contained the undeclared fish allergen / anchovies) and 2 Santa Fe wraps that contained undeclared milk / cheese. Fresh, Uncooked Ham Recalled by Embutidos Fanguito for Misbranding and Undeclared Soy and MSG

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)”s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has announced that Embutidos Fanguito, Inc., based in Miami, Florida, has recalled approximately 454 pounds of its fresh sliced ham product, “Jamon Vicky Lasqueado Smoked Flavor Added Sliced Cooked Ham & Water Product.” This recalled fresh ham product was mislabeled as being cooked. Its labeling also failed to list that the ham contained the soy allergen and Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). The recalled fresh sliced ham products were manufactured between April 18, 2017 and June 13, 2017 and distributed to locations throughout the state of Florida. California Sun Dry Foods Recalls Tomato Pesto for Undeclared Allergens

“California Sun Dry Sun-Dried Tomato Pesto” has been recalled by its manufacturer, California Sun Dry Foods. According to the U.S. Food & Drug Administration, this product was mislabeled: the labels on certain lots do not declare the presence of almond and milk allergens. The error was discovered when a California Sun Dry Foods employee noticed the flawed label while merchandising the product at a grocery store. Whole Foods Non-Dairy Spiced Golden Milk Mislabeled as Apple Juice Recalled for Nut Allergens

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that containers labeled as “Cold Pressed Apple Juice” and sold in Whole Foods Market stores in Arizona, California, and Nevada have been recalled by Urban Remedy. These containers actually contain Urban Remedy’s “Non-Dairy Spiced Golden Milk” – a product that contains tree nut (specifically, cashew) allergens. The mislabeled Golden Milk product was packaged in 16-ounce plastic bottles affixed with Whole Foods Market “Cold Pressed Apple Juice” labels. They are stamped with the “Best By” date of May 7, 2017 and the UPC code 1337702154. Undeclared nut allergens pose a serious health threat to those who are allergic to them. Reser’s Macaroni Salad Recalled for Undeclared Allergens

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has alerted consumers that Reser’s Fine Foods, Inc., headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, has issued a voluntary recall for 529 cases of its 16-ounce “Reser’s Macaroni Salad.” These products contain two allergens, milk and soy, which are not listed on the packages’ labelling. For those who are allergic to these allergens, consuming this macaroni salad may result in serious illness or a potentially fatal allergic reaction. The 16-ounce plastic containers of the affected product are stamped with a “Use By” Date of April 24, 2017 on the edge of the lid. Cassava Cake and Mixed Nut Mooncake Recalled for Multiple Undeclared Allergens

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) reports that Sunshine Bakery, headquartered in Alhambra, California, has issued a voluntary recall of its Cassava Cake and Mixed Nut Mooncake products. Both products contain the following undeclared food allergens: peanuts, coconut, almonds, and cashews. Some products may also contain sunflower seeds. The cassava and mooncake products are stamped with a “best by” date of 3/24/2017 and were distributed to retail stores on 2/24/2017. The Cassava Cakes, sliced either in brown squares or in red/yellow strips, were packaged on white foam trays and covered in clear plastic wrap. Salted Caramel Chocolate Almond Pie Recalled

Legendary Baking, headquartered in Denver, Colorado, has issued and expanded a recall of its Salted Carmel Chocolate Almond Pie product. The two allergens that the pies contain - eggs and almonds – were not properly declared on the packaging’s ingredient list. As reported by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the pies were distributed in 34-ounce packages to Kroger, Smith’s, and Fry’s retail grocery stores in Alabama, Arizona, Georgia Illinois, Indiana Kentucky, Michigan, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia. Magic Gourmet Trading Inc. of Millbrae, CA has recalled Koi Palace Mooncake products for undeclared allergens. The products, manufactured by Magic Gourmet, contain allergens not listed on the label including: wheat, gluten, eggs, milk, peanuts, pine nuts, almonds, walnuts, and sesame.
